1000th HELIOSTAR S printing unit completed

This February Windmöller & Hölscher manufactured the thousandth print unit for the HELIOSTAR S gravure press. The unit is part of a press being produced for a well-known packaging company in Southeast Asia. Including this press, there are currently more than 100 HELIOSTAR S presses operating at market leading companies as well as local family businesses in more than 30 countries on all continents.

First Miraflex S press in North America

Richmond, BC based Flexstar Packaging has installed the first MIRAFLEX S flexographic press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H) in North America.

The MIRAFLEX S has been in full operation since November 2015. Flexstar’s President, Marc Bray, said, “We have wide-web presses at FLEXSTAR. The MIRAFLEX S is a narrow to mid-web press that complements the machinery we have and is able to reliably tackle any kind of job we need to run, regardless of size or if the job is a PET, OPP or thin gauge PE application.”

20% lower weight, same performance!

Recently BSW Machinery, a subsidiary of Windmöller & Hölscher, presented a new technology for woven PP bags. The so-called LS Technology is a combination of multiple developments from BSW and W&H which facilitate the reduction of packaging weight while maintaining full performance. Critical areas of the bags are made stronger compared to older technologies.

Save mounting tape costs

Polymount has reported multiple investments in its Twinlock sleeve system. French printer G'Imprim has ordered another set of Twinlock sleeves for their soon to be installed 8 colour flexo press. Philippe Granger, General Manager of G’Imprim: "Several of our presses are able to use the same size of sleeves, so it made sense to buy even more. We have been using the Polymount technology for several years now and have achieved impressive cost savings."
