Brazilian printer is successful with DuPont Cyrel

Brasilian trade shop Fotograv has been using DuPont technology for four decades, and since November 2015 they were using the new DuPont Cyrel platform. Beside the fast setup, achieveable high pres speed of up to 600 m/min, vignettes fading down to zero and low dot gain, they were impressed with the standability. According to them, one job already ran over 2 million metres in total, with 15 print runs, and the plates were still in what they described as perfect condition. In their experience an average plate would only survive 6-7 print runs.

Dow and DuPont about to merge

According to media reports, Dow Chemical and DuPont are in advanced talks to merge. DuPont has a value of USD 58.4 billion, and Dow Chemical USD 59 billion.This would mean that a merger would rank among the five largest deals announced this year. Dows CEO Andrew Liveris is expected to be executive chairman of the new company.

Survey: What flexo printers want

The Flexographic printing industry continues to strive for excellence: the best print quality coupled with productivity improvements. So, it is no surprise that in a global survey of users of flexographic printing plates*, a majority of respondents said that they consider high ink transfer with improved printed tonal range among the most important attributes for success. A majority of respondents also indicated that coming up to color faster and running at higher press speeds were equally important.
