Teijin taking over DuPont stakes

Japan's Teijin is set to make two PE film joint ventures with DuPont into wholly owned subsidiaries.

The company will acquire the U.S. chemical giant's 40% interest in Teijin DuPont Films Japan effective immediately and take over DuPont's 49.9% stake in Indonesia Teijin DuPont Films after obtaining regulatory approval.

New initiative brings together 40 leading companies and cities

The New Plastics Economy led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation initiative kicked off with an inaugural workshop that brings together more than 40 leading companies including Amcor, Coca-Cola, DuPont, Indorama Ventures, L'Oréal, MARS, M&S, Natureworks, Novamont, Sealed Air, SUEZ, The Dow Chemical Company, Unilever, and Veolia, as well as front-running cities like Copenhagen and the London Waste and Recycling Board.

Dow and DuPont merger: European Commission opens in-depth investigation

The European Commission has opened an in-depth probe to assess whether the proposed merger of Dow and DuPont is in line with the EU Merger Regulation. It appears that the plastics division isn't directly targeted. The Commission will investigate further whether the deal may reduce competition in areas such as crop protection, seeds and certain petrochemicals.

Dow and DuPont merger approved by stockholders

Stockholders of DuPont and Dow Chemical have voted to approve all proposals necessary to complete the merger. The merger is expected to happen in the second half of 2016.

This was an important step to bring two large companies together, and to subsequently form three new independent technology and science companies in the agriculture business, material Science business and specialty Products business.

The separation is not expected to exceed 18-24 months after the merger closing.

Launched in 2015, Cyrel EASY plates simplify the prepress process with flat top digital dots that are built directly into the plates, resulting in increased productivity and consistency.
