Davis-Standard Expands Its Facility

Jim Murphy, President and CEO of Davis-Standard welcomed the Governor of Connecticut,  Dannel P. Malloy and other important delegates on Monday, July 17 and celebrates its new expansion of 15,000 sq-ft with Pawcatuck facility. More than 400 employees of the company were present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. 
The Pawcatuck site and its expansion reinforce the commitment of the  company to the local region. Davis-Standard has subsidiaries and manufacturing facilities in the US, Asia, and Europe in addition to the Pawcatuck facility.

Mid South Extrusion upgrade their film capabilities

Mid South Extrusion has installed a new Davis Standard extruder and strategic line which enabled them to improve throughputs and deliver a broader slate of HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE procession options as well as minimizing downtime. Upgrades were made to an existing Davis Standard blown film line. Mike Henagan, Executive Vice President of Operations at Mid South said that these upgrades will support the companies’ reliability and quality and ensure that customers receive the very best films on the market.

Transam Extrusions installs Davis-Standard machinery

The UK based Transam Extrusions continues to invest in Davis-Standard extrusion machinery.

Most recently, Transam added a new Davis-Standard EB50 EuroBlue extruder. The EB50 EuroBlue is the sixth Davis-standard extruder, with associated downstream, to be installed at Transam. The machine was ordered and delivered within 5 days, resulting in minimal production delays for Transam’s clients. In addition, Transam purchased a custom-built Davis-Standard water-bath specifically designed for the company’s unique business requirements.

PT Kencar installs Davis-Standard cast film technology

Indonesian film producer PT Kencar Sukses Investama is adding two more Davis-Standard cast film machines to their facility in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. This brings their total to four Davis-Standard machines in just over five years. According to Davis Standard, Kencar was the first company in Southeast Asia to introduce five-layer CPP films, and with the additional Davis-Standard machines, will become the first with six-layer capabilities.

Davis-Standard offers new services

Davis-Standard added blown film die rebuild and cleaning services at its site in the United Kingdom. 
The manufacturer states that their vigorous component inspection program ensures that customers are immediately aware of any parts that may require refinishing or replacement. This can often result in great cost savings when compared to purchasing a new die. 

The services will apply to all blown film dies from Davis-Standard product lines and heritage brands, including Gloucester Engineering. 

Non Davis-Standard brands will be considered on a case by case basis.
