Chemence Alford receives FlexoExpert certification

During a six-month process consisting of three main steps – evaluation, implementation and training,  then auditing – the FlexoExpert Certification Programme provides the means by which plate makers can further optimise their workflow to make more reliable and consistent plates, time and time again. With the guidance of a Flint Group expert, Chemence UK implemented the programme and passed the final audit to earn the honour of the FlexoExpert. In so doing they became the first site within the Chemence Group, to receive FlexoExpert certification.

Amjet Shanghai has again partnered with Esko

Chinese flexo platemaker Amjet Shanghai, a division of Amjet Group, has again partnered with Esko to install the first CDI Crystal 5080 XPS system in Greater China.
The investment in platemaking process technology includes the latest Automation Engine prepress workflow as well as the latest screening technology for flexo printing.

Veepee Graphics invests in Esko pre-press tools

Veepee Graphics has invested in Esko’s Digital Flexo Suite (DFS) and a Kongsberg X20 cutting table, making it the first pre-press trade house in India to purchase a Kongsberg table for cutting flexo plates.

Jai Chandra, the company’s managing director, said ‘The CI flexo presses run more smoothly with reduced or zero bounce from the plate edges. Our investment in the Kongsberg X20 has allowed us to offer a value-addition to our customers where we cut the plate with special radial edges free of charge for them.’

Hybrid Software Sells 1,500th PACKZ at Labelexpo Europe

HYBRID Software has recently achieved a major milestone at Labelexpo Europe 2017 with the sale of the 1,500th license of PACKZ, the company’s PDF editor for labels and packaging. The order was placed by French digital printer MR Cartonnage Numérique. 

MR Cartoonage Numérique made the decision because they’re looking for an efficient and quick method of handling PDF files which would also be compliant with their HP digital press.

COE launches tool for printing plate archiving

Carl Ostermann Erben GmbH (COE) has recently developed the ‘coe cam’ which allows their customers to automatically archive their printing plates in future, as well as finding them again.
This important advancement in plate handling allows for better cost saving for the company’s

ARC International launches sleeve division

ARC International has begun full time production of nickel-based sleeves.
“There has been a marked uptick in the use of sleeves by printers in recent years,” said Micheal Foran, CEO of ARC International. “Our customers were in need of a reliable alternative to the fiberglass sleeves that had been the norm early on in sleeve development.”

Uflex achieves low ink GSM by modifying and optimizing rotogravure cell structures

Uflex Limited after an intense R&D of almost three years has been able to optimize cell structures of laser engraved rotogravure cylinders to an extent that can actually result in about 20-25% less ink consumption than what the electro-mechanically engraved counterpart would require in order to render the same image resolution and enhancement. (In fact the printing output by a laser engraved cylinder is much enhanced and high definition compared to printing by an electro-mechanically engraved cylinder.)
