Chemco commissioned Reifenhauser Evolution to begin with flexible packaging production

Indian based manufacturer of preforms, bottles and containers Chemco Group installed a multilayer blown film line from Reifenhauser in order to ventured into manufacturing of shrink film.
  
This April, the extrusion line is capable of producing film up to 2600 mm width was installed at the group's plant in Vadodara plant. The daily production capacity is 14-16 tonnes of shrink film.

Davis-Standard offers new services

Davis-Standard added blown film die rebuild and cleaning services at its site in the United Kingdom. 
The manufacturer states that their vigorous component inspection program ensures that customers are immediately aware of any parts that may require refinishing or replacement. This can often result in great cost savings when compared to purchasing a new die. 

The services will apply to all blown film dies from Davis-Standard product lines and heritage brands, including Gloucester Engineering. 

Non Davis-Standard brands will be considered on a case by case basis.

Korean packaging producer buys battenfeld-cincinnati line

South Korea based Dongjin Co., Ltd Korea recently ordered their second complete 3-layer line from battenfeld-cincinnati with a Multi-Touch roll stack. The line is designed to produce PE, PP and PS sheet in thicknesses ranging from 0.35 to 2.0 mm for thermoforming applications with outputs of up to 1,500 kg/h. Dongjin is the largest producer of thermoformed packaging in South Korea.

Cloeren presents edge bead reduction die at K 2016

At the K 2016 in Düsseldorf, Cloeren will showcase the EBR V (Edge Bead Reduction) Die for extrusion coating applications. Until now, over 50 EBR V dies had been installed over the past 5 years. EBR Dies are used in the extrusion coating and lamination processes.

Visitors to the Cloeren booth will also be able to view the worlds widest NanoLayer system comprising a 55 layer NanoLayer Feedblock paired with a 5435 mm Epoch Die, to produce G3 NanoLayer Stretch Films.

Bandera sells two bag lines to China

Luigi Bandera has sold two HDBFLEX lines to two Chinese companies. One customer is belonging to the Sinopec Group, which has bought 9 heavy duty bag or FFS lines since 2001. The other customer is a renowed company from the Hunan Province. 
Both 3 layer HDBFLEX lines have similar configurations: a lay-up flat width of up to 700 mm, a thickness range between 80-250 micron, a possible output of more than 400 kg/h.

Maxi-Blast installs six Davis-Standard extruders

St. Petersburg, Florida based Maxi-Blast recently installed six Davis-Standard Thermatic extruders at its new facility. The recent facility expansion is 25,000 square feet (2323 sqm) larger than the old facility. The company has been a customer of Davis-Standard extruders since 1981, when Maxi-Blast was founded. 
 
According to the company, their new Thermatic extruders are giving 20% more product in the same amount of hours.

Jindal Poly Films commissions new BOPP capacity

Jindal Poly Films has commissioned its 7th BOPP films extrusion line. The line has a capacity of 41,000 TPA increasing the India BOPP capacity to 251,000 TPA at its Nasik (Maharashtra) Location.
Jindal's global BOPP capacity now stands at 466,000 TPA.

Innovia refocussing on BOPP

After the sale of its cellulose films business, Innovia is refocusing its strategy upon building and strengthening its specialty BOPP films business.

According Joe Piccione, Managing Director, Innovia Films the manufacturerf has always been a specialty films business which represents over 80% of their sales. In addition to a bespoke bubble extrusion process, he considers tailoring films as one of their core strengths.
