Mid South Extrusion upgrade their film capabilities

Mid South Extrusion has installed a new Davis Standard extruder and strategic line which enabled them to improve throughputs and deliver a broader slate of HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE procession options as well as minimizing downtime. Upgrades were made to an existing Davis Standard blown film line. Mike Henagan, Executive Vice President of Operations at Mid South said that these upgrades will support the companies’ reliability and quality and ensure that customers receive the very best films on the market.

Brückner Maschinenbau at Chinaplas 2017

At Chinaplas 2017 in Guangzhou, Booth 5.1 A65, German film stretching line specialist Brückner Maschinenbau will present solutions for the cost-effective production of a wide variety of added-value plastic films.

Brückner’s film stretching lines are the widest (up to 10.4 m) and fastest (above 600 m/min) and most productive (up to 65,000 tons/year) within the industry, according to the manufacturer.

AFP installs SML stretch film line

Apeldoorn Flexible Packaging (AFP) in the Netherlands has selected SML as the supplier for its newest nano-layer stretch film line. SML is proud to have become a partner of AFP management. The reasons for choosing SML were its proven machine technology, flexibility with regard to customer requirements and the live demonstrations at the K2016. The machinery has been fully customized to meet AFP’s technological needs and the space available at its plant. It will go into operation by end of 2017.

Transam Extrusions installs Davis-Standard machinery

The UK based Transam Extrusions continues to invest in Davis-Standard extrusion machinery.

Most recently, Transam added a new Davis-Standard EB50 EuroBlue extruder. The EB50 EuroBlue is the sixth Davis-standard extruder, with associated downstream, to be installed at Transam. The machine was ordered and delivered within 5 days, resulting in minimal production delays for Transam’s clients. In addition, Transam purchased a custom-built Davis-Standard water-bath specifically designed for the company’s unique business requirements.

Cosmo Films has announced start up of its tenth, 10.4 metre BOPP line. With installation of this new line, the company will increase its annual capacity by 40%, taking it to 1.96 lakh MT. Company’s current annual capacity stands at 1.36 lakh MT.

SML installed first US-compatible stretch film line

Last September, Sigma Plastics went into production with the first SML cast stretch film line for the US market.

The 9-up line with a width of 180" (4.5m) was built to UL specifications and following modifications to meet state code requirements was installed by SML at Sigma’s Riverside facility in California.

Adjusting the line design to meet Californian demands was a straightforward process owing to the fact that SML supplies machinery worldwide, including the USA, and utilising many standard components that are already UL-approved.

Sealed Air builts new flexible packaging plant in Russia

The flexible  packaging giant Sealed Air Corp. has started production at a new EUR 9.5 million food packaging plant at Volgograd. The site will produce multi-layer PP film for meat packaging. 
Maximum capacity of the plant is 500 kg/h. Sealed Air plans to raise the workfore to 68 (now 45) and the capacity to 800 kg/h.

Klöckner Pentaplast starts new line in Thailand

Klöckner Pentaplast has added a new PET production line in Rayong, Thailand.  This is a respond to the rising demand for PET packaging solutions from the food industry. Fifteen employees will work on the new production line in Rayong.
